My first comics since surgery, inspired by the menus at Vancouver General. This has to be one of the saddest most deeply wrong things in the world– that the food in the hospital is barely edible. Sickening in more ways than one.

Oh god does that brings back the memories! I remember them bringing me broccoli (cooked till it disintegrated on sight) for every dinner – even though broccoli causes gas and I had just had abdominal surgery. Maybe they went from 1 green thing to none because I complained about it. I think I had catsup once, isn’t that a fruit in the US? And haven’t food services been farmed out to a US company now?
I think food services at VGH are provided by Sodexho, a French multinational, multi-billion dollar corporation. More on them at this link: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:kpSbmtYYMr8J:cupe.ca/updir/sodexho_profile.pdf+sodexho&hl=en&gl=ca&ct=clnk&cd=10
